Columbia Experience Team Update
5/21/2009
An update from Paul Gamache on the Columbia Experience Team, sponsored in part by AT Paddle.
After 55 days of paddling the Columbia Experience Team has reached the Ocean! Consisting of 12 dam portages, 65mph wind storms, and nearly 880 miles of flatwater the team has completed the first leg of the expedition. Sometime this fall the team will return to British Columbia to knock off the 270 miles remaining on upper portion of the Columbia River and complete a source to sea of this legendary river.
The team is documenting this adventure in hopes of raising awareness of water issues not just in the U.S. but internationally as well. There are countless rivers around the world in danger of becoming dammed. For a short list of videos highlighting some of these rivers: Click Here.
We are grateful for the support AT has provided us and are looking forward to successfully completing the expedition this fall!
